At present, long-distance oil and gas transportation mainly uses pipelines, and the pipeline steel pipes used in long-distance pipelines mainly include spiral submerged arc welded steel pipes and straight seam double-sided submerged arc welded steel pipes. Since the spiral submerged arc welded pipe is made of strip steel, the wall thickness is limited, and the improvement of the steel grade is limited by the heat treatment of the material. In addition, the spiral submerged arc welded pipe has some shortcomings that are difficult to overcome, such as long weld, large residual stress, and poor weld reliability. With the increasing demand for oil and gas transportation steel pipes, they are no longer used in densely populated areas and areas with high reliability requirements. Large-diameter longitudinal welded pipes are gradually replacing spiral welded pipes.
1. Recently, China is speeding up the development of oil and gas in the East China Sea. With the development of oil exploitation to the depths of the ocean, due to the influence of composite forces such as pressure, impact force and bending force on the pipeline laying on the seabed, there is also a flattening phenomenon, which is the weak link of spiral welded pipe. In order to improve the pipeline transportation capacity and ensure the development of submarine pipelines in the direction of thick wall, straight seam welded pipes are mostly used in submarine pipelines. Therefore, compared with spiral welded pipes, straight welded pipes have higher dimensional accuracy and easier repair welding. Therefore, from this aspect, straight welded pipes are also the first choice.
2, coal slurry and slurry pipeline need to use straight seam welded pipe, pipeline transportation is "paste" pipeline transportation is the upward direction. Since the weld surplus height of spiral welded pipe is a spiral line, the resistance to coal slurry is large, and the pipe needs a larger wall thickness, so the straight seam welded pipe is preferred.
3, machinery, construction, chemical and other industries need straight seam welded pipe. At present, the mechanical industry uses forgings to process the inner hole of the valve seat, which is labor-consuming, time-consuming and material-consuming. If thick-walled welded pipe is used, it will be much more economical. In addition, due to the mechanical performance requirements of anti-flattening, the construction pipe only uses the straight seam welded pipe; the chemical pipe also hopes to use the straight seam welded pipe.
